Vallabhacharya (circa AD 1200) in his Nyaya-lilavati pointed out the resistance of water to a sinking object, but did not go on to discuss the principle. Surprisingly, Archimedes Principle (discovered sometime in the third century BC) finds no mention in the scientific literature of ancient India.
